Clinical Divisions - Cardiothoracic Imaging

The Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging represents a collaborative partnership between Radiology and Cardiology. Currently we have six radiologists, two cardiologists and one physicist working primarily at the Clifton Road campus with some work also being performed at Grady Medical Center and Crawford Long Hospital. State-of-the-art equipment presently in use include Siemens Somatom Definition dual-source MDCT, Siemens Somatom Sensation 64 MDCT, GE Lightspeed VCT 64-slice MDCT, Siemens Biograph 64 PET-CT, Siemens Biograph 40 PET-CT, Siemens Avanto 1.5 T MRI, Siemens Trio 3.0 T MRI, and Philips 1.5 T MRI. Members of the division have held leadership positions in national societies and are active in both teaching and research.

NASCI Gold Medal Award
Murray Baron, MD

The North American Society for Cardiac Imaging (NASCI) has awarded Dr. Baron the Gold Medal Award. The very first NASCI Gold Medal Award was given in 2002. Recipients of this honor are chosen because of their significant contributions to the cardiovascular imaging field. Dr. Baron demonstrated outstanding dedication and motivation. Congratulations on this prestigious achievement.
