The Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging is composed of three very talented and dedicated faculty. The installation of a 1.5 Tesla Signa HDx scanner and a 3 Tesla HDx MR have presented new opportunities not only clinically, but also in the area of research. Musculoskeletal Imaging will be working on research projects with its residents, as well as orthopedics to fully explore the capabilities of the state-of-the art equipment. This division supports the musculoskeletal needs throughout Emory HEALTHCARE and is based at the Executive Park campus. With firm goals this division is sure to grow in clinical service to our referring physicians, in teaching, and research.

Teacher of the Year
Dr. Walter Carpenter, Assistant Professor of Musculoskeletal Imaging, has been voted as the Teacher of the Year by the Radiology Residents. He is being honored for his knowledge and willingness to take the extra time to pass along his wisdom to the next generation of radiologists.
The Executive Park site has upgraded the MR scanners with a GE 1.5 Tesla HDx MRI scanner installed in February. This June we received the 3 Tesla GE HDx scanner and are beginning to produce some high quality images.
