Neuroradiology
DIRECTOR: Patricia Hudgins, MD, Professor of Radiology
TRAINING: The Department of Radiology of Emory University School of Medicine offers one or two year Fellowships in Neuroradiology. The program is designed to meet individual needs for practical and advanced training. Fellows train entirely in neuroradiology/interventional neuroradiology, with additional emphasis on pediatric, head and neck, and spine neuroradiology. Provisions are available for experience in neuropathology, neurology and neurosurgery.
FACILITIES: Emory University Affiliated Hospitals include Emory University Hospital, a referral hospital; Grady Memorial Hospital; and Children's Hospital of Atlanta, Egleston. Equipment includes state-of-the-art biplane neuroradiological angiographic suites, 8 CT scanners (5 multi-detector), myelographic facilities, six 1.5T MRI units (GE, Philips and Siemens), and a Varian 3T dedicated research MR scanner. Planned installations include an additional GE 3T MR scanner and a combined CT/PET scanner.
FACULTY: The faculty includes 10 neuroradiologists and 3 interventional neuroradiologists.
RESEARCH: In addition to clinical research, complete animal laboratory facilities are available and trainees are encouraged to participate in projects of their own or those of the faculty.
SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary will be approximately $52,168 (effective 7/1/07) for 1st year fellows and approximately $53,271 for 2nd year fellows.
ELIGIBILITY: The fellowship is available to individuals who have completed an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, or its equivalent.
