Educational Programs - Fellowships

Pediatric Imaging

DIRECTOR: Paula Dickson, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology

PROGRAM: The Department of Pediatric Radiology at Emory University offers an ACGME-approved fellowship program in direct association with the Diagnostic Radiology program. All aspects of training take place at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston which is a newly renovated, free-standing 250 bed hospital across from the Emory campus. Approximately 103,000 studies are performed annually in the Radiology department. The experience at Children's ranges from referrals from our emergency room, our five immediate care centers located around the metropolitan perimeter and a base of more than 1400 referring pediatricians to sub-specialized tertiary cases including an extensive transplant service.  The fellowship program is one year in duration and consists of twelve one-month rotations. The purpose of the fellowship is to train qualified radiologists to be highly competent in all aspects of pediatric radiology in order to serve the children in their communities, be it in an academic or private practice setting. In addition to fellowship training, four Emory radiology residents rotate through the department each month. In addition to a Pediatric Radiology fellow, there are fellowships in 11 other Pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties.
