Career Sketch: After serving as Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia, Jacques Dion, MD, FRCP, joined Emory in 1998. As one of the founding fathers of Interventional Neuroradiology, Dr. Dion is an expert in this field. He is internationally recognized for his achievements, discoveries and contributions to the field of Interventional Neuroradiology. For the last seven years, Dr. Dion has been named in Atlanta Magazine's Annual "Best Doctors" issue. Dr. Dion has been invited to lecture at over 450 various locations world-wide and has delivered over 150 meeting presentations.
As a contributor to the Radiology Community, Dr. Dion is a member of numerous professional organizations, serves as a Reviewer for countless publications such as on of his more recent peer reviewed publications, "Intracranial Hemorrhage Associated with Ventricular Catheterization in the Setting of Stent-Assisted Coil Embolization of Cerebral Aneurysms". He is devoted to leadership roles on numerous special committees and continuously dedicates his time to educate the fellows of Interventional Neuroradiology.
Dr. Dion is trained, experienced and knowledgeable in numerous patient procedures: Intracranial Aneurysms-GDC Therapy, Arterio-venous Malformations (AVM's), Dural Arterio-Venous Fistula (DAVF's), Pre-operative Tumor Embolization, Emergency Stroke Therapy, Carotid Artery Angioplasty and Stenting, Vertebroplasty, and Hemangioma Treatment. This clinical expertise has led to Emory being recognizes as a leader in the area of Interventional Neuroradiology.
