Career Sketch: Frank Tong, MD joined Emory in 1993 when he began his Radiology Residency. He continued his education with Post Graduate training as a Diagnostic Neuroradiology Fellow and later pursued a Fellowship in Interventional Nueroradiology. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at Emory University Hospital.
Recently, Dr. Tong has been working to develop a stroke model for optimizing acute stroke imaging techniques and neuroprotective measures. In collaboration with Georgia Tech researchers, they are also developing computational simulation of human cerebral aneurysms. His clinical research involves evaluating new endovascular devices and techniques such as, intracranial stenting and cerebral aneurysm treatment.
Since 2005, Dr. Tong has been a manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Neuroradiology. He has also contributed to the publications of over 20 articles. In addition to his research, Dr. Tong is an avid believer in providing high-quality education. He has supervised the training for Neuro Fellows and has been a Radiology Resident Faculty Advisor for several residents.
