Career Sketch: Dr. D’Orsi joined Emory in 2002, after serving as Radiology vice-chairman at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Dr. D’Orsi is a much desired lecturer in the field of mammography. His knowledge in digital mammography has gained him national attention. He is currently the vice-chair for the American College of Radiology’s Commission on Breast Cancer. Dr. D’Orsi has been an examiner with the American Board of Radiology since 1992. In 1988, with six other colleagues, he founded the Society for Breast Imaging. He was the program chair at the ACR’s 31st Annual National Conference on Breast Cancer in 2004 and serves on numerous program committees. He is on the editorial board of Seminars in Breast Disease. Recently, he received Radiology’s Editor’s Recognition Award with Special Distinction, 2006. He is a member of Marquis “Who’s Who in America” 2007. His research projects include digital mammography for the early detection of breast cancer.
