Career Sketch: Dr. Tridandapani received his M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Washington and post-doctoral training in computer science from University of California. Dr. Tridandapani then served as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University. Not
satisfied with this training, he then took the risky plunge into medical school and residency training in Radiology at University of Michigan, followed by two fellowships, one in Cardiothoracic Imaging and the other in Abdominal Imaging. While Dr. Tridandapani will not rule out further formal education, he is currently quite happy with (1) serving patients through interpretation of
chest and abdominal imaging studies and performing advanced imaging
guided procedures, (2) teaching medical students and residents, and (3) performing pioneering work in the area of cardiac imaging by exploiting his engineering background to further the cause of medicine. He is currently planning a laboratory to develop advanced cardiac imaging techniques.
