Career Sketch: David received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1987, and joined the School of Medicine in 1988 as a Research Associate. He was promoted to his current position of Assistant Professor in 1993; in 2004 he started working half-time for Syntermed, Inc., an Emory start-up company, where he is now the Director of Clinical Applications. He is a regular lecturer in the Nuclear Medicine Physics course, has served as a Judge in the state’s Georgia Science and Engineering Fair since 1998, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Computer and Instrumentation Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine from 2003 – 2006. His research interests include applying software engineering and design principles to help solve clinical problems, specifically in Nuclear Cardiology. He has authored or co-authored over 100 manuscripts, book chapters and abstracts.
