Career Sketch: Jeff Stehouwer earned a PhD in Chemistry in 2002 from the University of Nevada, Reno under the direction of Professor Suk-Wah Tam-Chang with research performed in the area of molecular recognition and self-assembly. Dr. Stehouwer came to Emory in October, 2002 as a Post-doctoral Fellow and began research in the area of PET tracer discovery under the direction of Professor Mark Goodman. Dr. Stehouwer became an Assistant Professor in 2005 and continues research in the area of PET tracer discovery directed at developing PET tracers for neuroimaging. Current targets include the serotonin transporter, dopamine transporter, norepinephrine transporter, and corticotropin-releasing factor type-1 receptor.
