Career Sketch: Prior to coming to Emory, Dr. Yu was an Assistant Professor at Shanghai University of Science and Technology in China where she had many years of teaching and lab experience in various chemistry areas. She had her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School under the supervision of Dr. T. Hasan. Dr. Yu has contributed over seven years to the Emory Radiology Department, assisting in research along Drs. Goodman and Schuster. Throughout her research career, Dr. Yu has had numerous symposium contributions and publications in professional journals. Her research has been focused on synthetic chemistry to synthesize new medicine related compounds in developing and evaluating molecular imaging probes using PET and SPECT for (1) The study and management of cancer treatment and diagnosis, (2) The investigation of peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) activity and its relationship with human glial tumors and cytokine induced brain inflammation.
