Career Sketch: After three years postdoctoral training in organometallic chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Ei-ichi Negishi, H. C. Brown Distinguished Professor, at Purdue University, Dr. Zeng joined Emory University in 2003 and began research in the area of PET tracer discovery. Dr. Zeng was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2005. The focus of Dr. Zeng's research is on the development of new radiopharmaceuticals that provide diagnostic information on various organs in normal and disease states, such as depression and Alzheimer's diseases. Current research interests include 1) developing imaging agents for CNS norepinephrine and serotonin transporters, and 2) agents for imaging beta-amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease.
