Career Sketch: Dr. Lerakis joined EMORY HEALTHCARE after he finished his fellowship in Echocardiography at Emory University and is currently the head of Cardiac MRI at The Emory Clinic. Recently, Dr. Lerakis has been awarded the honor of being one of “America’s Top Cardiologists” by Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. Lerakis has been a member of the Research Committee of the American Society of Echocardiography (2003-2006), Editor of the Cardiology Grand Rounds for the American Journal of Medical Sciences, and a manuscript reviewer of multiple journals including The American Journal of Cardiology. His main focus of clinical practice and research has been noninvasive cardiology. Dr. Lerakis has been involved in house-staff teaching at all levels at Emory University.
