Career Sketch: Prior to joining the Emory Radiology Department, Dr. Montilla completed his undergraduate and Doctorate degree at the University of Puerto Rico. He joined the US Army and did his internship at Brooke Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas. He completed his residency in Radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, where he also completed a two year nuclear medicine fellowship. He was an assistant professor at the Uniformed School for the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland until 2006, where he was actively engaged in training medical school students, radiology residents and nuclear medicine fellows. Dr Montilla served as the Director of PET/CT Imaging at Walter Reed Army Medical Center until his separation from the US Army in 2006. He is a contributor to numerous publications and has lectured at RSNA multiple times as well as lectured internationally.
