Career Sketch: Dr. Carpenter joined the Emory faculty in 1989 after completing his military obligation. He completed his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech in December, 1977. Dr. Carpenter was released from active duty in 1998. He served as Vice Chair of Radiology Informatics from 1996 to 2005.
