Career Sketch: Mariana's position allows her to concentrate on the budget and logistic aspects of a grant/proposal, so the researcher can focus on the scientific portion. She aids with completing applications and specific packages to streamline the proficiency of the numerous forms associated with each proposal submission. On the post-award side, Mariana makes sure that the guidelines of each agency are kept, the spending is in accordance with the budget and that the closing procedures are properly followed.
Mariana has been involved in the financial field all of her career, with a range of experience in banking and accounting. Mariana began her Emory career ten years ago in the Public Health, Global Health Department before joining the Emory Radiology Department in 2006.
