Career Sketch: Dr. Schuster joined Emory as an Assistant Professor in Radiology in 2001. Prior to joining Emory he practiced at North Carolina VA Medical Center, Boston VA Medical Center and was an instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine. Through his extensive research involvement Dr. Schuster has presented nationally, including courses at RSNA and is widely published. In January of 2007, the paper entitled “Initial Experience with the Radiotracer Anti-1-Amino-3-18F-Fluorocyclobutane-1-Carboxylic Acid with PET/CT in Prostate Carcinoma” was featured on the cover of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Schuster is also well known for his co-authorship of the book A Clinicians Guide to Nuclear Medicine. Advancing education is an initiative that Dr. Schuster takes very seriously, and has developed a teaching program for the Medical Student Clerkship for Nuclear Medicine. The fellows involved with the division are able to participate in Dr. Schuster’s current research, which includes 18F-FACBC Radiotracer for Prostate Carcinoma, PET-MRI Applications and New Radiotracers for Dementia Imaging.
