Career Sketch: Dr. Taylor joined Emory in 1986. Prior to coming to Emory, he was Director of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Utah. Since his arrival in 1986, he has had almost continuous NIH funding. His current NIH research focuses on Decision Support (Expert) Systems to process and interpret renal scans and on development of radiopharmaceuticals to image the kidneys and monitor renal function. He has co-authored over 219 peer reviewed articles and is co-author of the recently completed 2nd edition of the “Clinician’s Guide to Nuclear Medicine,” a book designed to help clinicians understand the advantages and limitations of nuclear medicine procedures so that they can select the most appropriate test for their patients. Dr. Taylor is past Chair of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and is currently Chair of the Radioactive Drug Research Committee at Emory University.
