Career Sketch: Marcus began his career as a financial analyst with MedPartners. While there, he traveled to newly aquired practices to analyze their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats. From there, he worked as an analyst in the banking industry for several years joining Emory Healthcare in 1999 where he became a Sr. Financial Analyst for The Emory Clinic. In this role, he partnered with department administrators to develop strategies to reduce expenses and increase business revenues. In 2004, he became a Financial Manager with EMCF (Emory Medical Care Foundation) where he ensured the compilation, analysis and reporting of financial data, including $13M in revenues, a $6M operating budget & $25M in investments. In May 2005, he held dual roles. While working with EMCF, he also worked with the Emory Orthopedic and Spine Center as the Interim Operations Administrator. In this added role, he lead day to day operations of a department that consisted of 30 Physicians, 107 employees and a $20M annual expense budge. In June 2006, Marcus started his Radiology Management Career as Revenue Cycle Manager where he is currently responsible for day to day operations of the reimbursement office which consist of 40 employees and generates nearly $200M in charges.
