Career Sketch: Dr. Louis Martin is a Professor and former Chief of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology section of the Emory University school of Medicine Department. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He entered the United States Air Force following one year of internal medicine at the Marquette University program at Milwaukee County Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following an honorable discharge from the USAF, he completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a 2 year fellowship in Neuroradiology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Martin’s research has primarily been in the field of interventional radiology with special emphasis in arterial interventions especially renal artery angioplasty, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, maintenance of renal dialysis grafts and aortic and arterial endografts. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He has published over 80 manuscripts and 13 book chapters. He has served as a reviewer for the journals: Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Cardiovascular Radiation Medicine Journal.
