Dr. Fei is a Georgia Research Alliance Distinguished Scientist. He received numerous national awards including the SNMMI Young Investigator Award and the ARR Distinguished Investigator Award. He served in the DOD and NIH study sections. He is an Associate Editor for Medical Physics and an Editorial Board Member for four journals.  Fei is recognized as a national leader in prostate cancer imaging. His research focuses on Quantitative and Translational Imaging and Image-guided Interventions.

Dr. Fei’s research has been funded by multiple NIH grants. Research projects include multimodality image fusion guided biopsy, advanced computer algorithms for medical processing and analysis, technology development and applications of multimodality molecular imaging (optical, ultrasound, MRI, and PET), and image-guided therapy.
