Many of the Emory Radiology faculty and staff are involved with collaborative efforts within institutionally supported centers or core facilities.
The Emory Center for Systems Imaging (CSI) is a multidisciplinary research facility dedicated to develop, integrate, and translate emerging imaging technologies, including MR, PET, optical and multimodality strategies. CSI, which opened its doors in late 2008, was developed to provide a home for a critical mass of scientists, technical support, and technology users, as well as providing a regional platform for coordinating imaging resources and expertise. Occupying 17,000 nsf of newly renovated space on the Wesley Woods campus (approximately 1 mile from the main Emory Clifton Road campus), the Center houses state-of-the-art facilities for imaging biomarker development and translation including a Siemens RDS-111 cyclotron, HRRT high-resolution PET camera, 3T TIM Trio MR scanner as part of a combined MR/PET prototype, micro PET/CT device, and multispectral optical imaging. The Center was built upon a uniquely supportive Atlanta biomedical environment, a flourishing imaging research community across Emory University and the Georgia Tech, and vibrant centers of excellence within the Emory Neuroscience Initiative and the Winship Cancer Institute. Administered jointly by the Department of Radiology and School of Medicine, CSI offers core imaging research services for all Emory faculty.
