Career Sketch: Dr. Sechopoulos joined the faculty of the Department of Radiology in 2007 after performing his doctoral research in the Department's Medical Physics and Engineering Lab. His main area of research is in the development of advanced x-ray based imaging techniques, especially in the field of early breast cancer detection, for which he collaborates closely with the physicians of the Breast Imaging Center. Dr. Sechopoulos has performed extensive work in computational methods in high performance computing platforms for medical physics modeling, as well as in advanced image processing methods. He is also in charge of the Physics Course of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program.
