Interventional Radiology & Image Guided Medicine

The Department of Radiology of Emory University School of Medicine offers a one year ACGME-approved fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology.

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Kevin Kim, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, OB/Gyn, Oncology and Surgery

TRAINING: The program is designed to provide a complete experience, preparing the trainee for private or academic practice. Fellows participate in and perform the gamut of interventional radiology care. Training includes clinics, procedures, pre and post-procedure management and patient care. Our service admits patients primarily for many procedures. The section protocols and interprets CTA and MRA studies.
 
Daily teaching rounds and weekly interdepartmental conferences are held with vascular surgery, GI oncology, thoracic oncology and transplant.  Weekly didactic interventional fellows conference, as well as monthly interventional M & M and interesting case conferences are conducted.


FACILITIES: Emory University Affiliated Hospitals include Emory University Hospital, a tertiary referral center; Grady Memorial Hospital, a 1,000 bed county hospital, Emory University Midtown Hospital, and Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children. Equipment includes Philips and GE angiographic suites, interventional CT scanners, and MRI units.

RESEARCH: Complete animal laboratory is available, and trainees are encouraged to participate in projects of their own or those of the staff.

SALARY & BENEFITS (2012 figures):  Salary will be approximately $57,748 K at the PGY-6 level. Health insurance is provided. Fellows get three weeks (15 days) of vacation and up to 5 meeting days. Additional time off can be approved by the Program Director for those interested in dedicated research.


ELIGIBILITY: The fellowship is available to individuals who have completed an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology.
